This CQI-IRCA Certified course introduces learners to practical tools and good practice approaches to managing quality in construction at all stages of the project lifecycle.
It has been developed to equip learners working within the construction industry with the knowledge and skills required to contribute to their organisation’s achievement of ‘right first time’.
Upon successful completion of the course, learners will have the capability to participate in the integration of quality to all stages of the Construction Project Lifecycle.
The specification for this course was developed by CQI in partnership with the CQI Construction Special Interest Group (ConSig).
Course duration and timetable
2 days, starting at 9.00 am to 5.30 pm with 45 minutes lunch and 2 coffee breaks (am and pm).
For in-house delivery timings can be adjusted to suit the company as long as the total duration of the course is not altered.

Who is it for?
This course is suitable for quality professionals working in construction industry and other personnel who need to have a better understanding of the application of quality in construction.
This is a 2-day course for Quality in Construction and a supporting Construction Project Quality Lifecycle and covers the following topics:

- Management planning for construction projects against contractual requirements

- Project Quality Control
- Technical Assurance
- Managing Project Change
- Site Inspection & Surveillance
- Client liaison and handover
Course assessment and examination
It is a requirement of the CQI-IRCA Certified courses that delegates fully attend and successfully achieve the course learning objectives before a certificate of achievement can be awarded. Therefore, delegates attending this classroom-based training are required to take a one-hour examination. The examination is a multiple-choice paper and is closed book.
In addition, the tutors’ continual assessment of delegates ensures that weaknesses in any areas are identified during the course so that actions are taken to help the delegate achieve the learning objectives.
It is a requirement of the CQI-IRCA Certified courses that delegates fully attend and successfully achieve the course learning objectives before a certificate of achievement can be awarded. Therefore, delegates attending the online version of this training are also required to take a one-hour examination. This is not an online examination. It will be held at a few locations in the UK approximately 2 weeks after the course completion (please note that during the lockdown and travel restrictions period, examinations are not held until such time that the restrictions are lifted).
In addition, our online technology allows the tutors’ continual assessment of delegates to ensure that weaknesses in any areas are identified during the course so that actions are taken to help the delegate achieve the learning objectives.
A “Certificate of Achievement” of the course is awarded to those delegates who successfully complete the course assessment.
Recommended prior knowledge
A basic knowledge of the construction industry and an awareness of the role of quality is required.
